CEREC technology greatly increases the convenience of having restorative work done as producing the custom ceramic restoration with computer aided design (CAD) takes one appointment with the CEREC restoration being computer aided milled (CAM) chairside. Whereas using traditional methods this processing would often take at least a week, over at least two visits.

    1. The defective filling and decay is removed. A reflective powder layer prepares the tooth for imaging

    2. An optical 3D image is acquired with a small camera directly in your mouth

    3. The restoration is created on the computer screen using the image data

    4. CEREC computer, 3D camera and milling unit CEREC 3D gives a 3D impression of the preparation and shows the Porcelain restoration in 3D.

    5. Diamond coated instruments mill the ceramic block to reproduce the design.

    6. After polishing the new restoration fits precisely

    7. A light curing system hardens the bonding material uniting porcelain and tooth

    8. Polishing or glazing ensures a pleasantly smooth and natural feel
